Chicken Summer Salad and Lavender Biscuits

What do you do when you cook a lot and don’t have a garden? Obviously, hit the farmer’s markets and co-ops. But if you’re really lucky, you know someone with a garden who will allow an occasional garden raid.

Erin Herold and I met on Twitter. She and her husband Nat live in St. Paul and have one of their gardens dedicated to the ingredients they need to make their signature salsas (which they make every fall much to the delight of their friends and family). They grow everything completely organically in good old St. Paul soil. Erin invited me to raid her garden! She even threw in a cup of coffee, a salsa tasting, and a tour!

This video was inspired by what Erin had coming up. The wide variety of herbs dictated the green goddess dressing. I just had to do something with the lavender flowers and lemon verbena. Thanks Erin!

Let’s get cooking!
